Ceramic Coating Aftercare Guidelines
- Please do not wash the coated vehicle for at least 7-14 days after coating has been applied. This allow for proper curing of the coating and provides the maximum adhesion.
- When washing the vehicle it is recommend to perform a proper hand wash using high quality wash mitts and quality microfiber drying towels. We do not recommend using bath towels, chamois or other towels as this could scratch the surface.
- Automatic carwashes are not recommended, but if you need to use one we would choose the brushless over a brush style.
- The ceramic coated surfaces will be more resistant to light scratches and chemical etching but not scratch proof, also heavy cleaners and poor washing techniques can potentially damage the coating and/or reduce the lifespan of its protective qualities.
If wanting to maintain the coating yourself here are some suggested products for best results
Soap/Shampoo: Hyperclean foam wash, Shine supply shift soap, P&S Pearl
Wash mitts: Autofiber Noodle, The rag company Ultra wash pad
Drying Towels: The rag company LIQUID8R, Autofiber Dreadnought, Griot’s garage PFM Terry Weave Drying Towels.
Detail towels: for painted surfaces: Rag company FTW, Eagle edgeless 300 or 500
Ceramic coatings will make your car look better and help it stay cleaner longer and provide ease of cleaning BUT THEY ARE NOT MAINTENANCE FREE. For your coating to perform its best and last as long as possible we recommend the application of a ceramic “booster” or “topper” every 3-6 months all depending on how vehicle is used. example garaged kept, always outside, dirt road driving etc.
Recommended spray sealants: Hyperclean SLIQ, P&S DEFENDER, Gtechniq C2V3, Carpro reload, Shine supply Punch-it.Detail sprays for light dust: P&S paint gloss. P&S absolute. Hyperclean eco one, Shine supply eco shine. Shine supply Ignition.
Natural Disasters like Bird Poo, Tree sap and bug guts are corrosive to your paint and the ceramic coating and should be washed off immediately. Industrial fallout, iron deposits from brake dust and road grime should be removed regularly as part of a maintenance wash routine.
Water spots are always a potential hazard. Water spots are a common occurrence if water is allowed to dry on the vehicles surface and is not washed shortly afterwards. The minerals in the water spot can become tough that a simple wash will not remove them. Removal will require a special water spot remover or in some cases even a light polish. Please Contact us to consult if water spots occur. Be sure to always wash the vehicle in a cool shaded area to eliminate the potential of water spotting when washing your vehicle.
